What a wonderful Day!
I am sorry this post took so long. I am stil having problems with the blogspot. I hope you who want to are receiving Elder Wright's emails. He has been much better at sending them out than me. We have just returned from a trip to Brisbane where we had the priviledge to help Lorenzo, Wiejie Chu, receive his endowments in the Brisbane Temple. This is the first time that I have ever been involved in the journey of a convert all the way to receiving his endoment in the temple. We went down the day before and got his garments so he would be ready. To make it even more special we drove him down to Gladston, 1 1/2 hours away, to meet with the Stake Patriarch where he received his Patriarchal blessing. That was a great experience as the Patriarch let us sit in on the blessing. Among other things he was told he has a work to do in China.
I am so proud of Lorenzo. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and he was determined to go back to China with his patriarchal blessing and his endoment in the temple. Lorenzo's Australian visa ends the last day of March so after the endowmant session he stayed in Brisbane. He wants to go to the temple in New Zealand and then return home. He is very nervous about going home. It is against the law to share the gospel in China right now. All it would take is for one person tell the goverment he is talking about an unauthorized religion he could go to jail. His great desire is to go to school at BYU Idaho next fall. I hope and pray that he can do that. Members in China have to be so careful. Lorenzo didn't miss sacrament meeting once in the year since his baptism because he said he didn't know when he got home, when he ever would be able to attend a sacrament meeting or attend the temple again. It was also joyful for us to see sister missionaries who used to serve in Rockhampton and knew Lorenzo. They got permission to attend the temple with Lorenzo. We have loved these Sister missionaries so much. Others have gone home already so could not attend.
So we returned to Rockhampton without Lorenzo. We only have one and one half transfers before we are released. Hard to believe. Time went fast sometime and slow sometime but we knew this time would come. We have absolutely loved serving in Rockhampton and the Brisbane Mission. We hope that we have made a difference in the ward and the converts lives. We feel good about many of the things we have been able to do. The Sisters want me to leave a cookbook for them of the things we have been able to do. I know that this is where we were meant to be. Mission Calls are truly inspired and there are so many different kinds of missions. The adult members in the Pacific Area have been asked to serve one at home mission and one away from home mission. The church is baptizing so many member in the pacific area that they are desperate for leadership to train new members. There are opportunities to do things at home over zoom to help anywhere in the world. We were asked to sit in on weekly zoom meetings with missionaries who are learning English on their mission. Basically they just need the conversation experience. Thanks for all your support. We love you all. Sister Wright
